The People Behind the Brand
The team behind Making the Brand™ consists of three marketing pros with more than 38 years of combined experience. Although each member of the team is an independent business owner running their
own specialized marketing company, when working together they function as a "virtual marketing agency" with each supplying a skill set and combination of services often found in a traditional brick
and mortar agency (usually at a much higher price).
Kandra Churchwell (Phases Design Studio), Beth Boen (CreativeXchange Marketing), and Travitt Hamilton (The Write Stuff) were inspired to establish Making the Brand™ after working in Denver's small
business community for several years. The three of them came together and formed a mutual conclusion: small business owners need help understanding the true benefits of a strong brand, and the
process of building one.
The three of them are excited about the prospect of giving small businesses in Denver a new set of tools for building successful companies, and helping them learn to use these tools. Churchwell,
who came up with the idea, sees the contest as "an opportunity to help educate the many companies who form the small business community in
Denver , and we couldn't pass it up."
According to Hamilton, "We really feel like the small business community as a whole will benefit from seeing the process happen, and we're all just happy to be a part of it."
"We've seen so many businesses with these great ideas, interesting products and owners who've just poured their whole heart into their companies having a hard time making it," Beth Boen says. "A
lot of small businesses are just barely getting by. Making the Brand™ is a chance to level the playing field a little bit and let smaller companies get in the ring with the big guys."
CreativeXchange Marketing
Beth Boen founded CreativeXchange Marketing to provide small and mid-size businesses with the road map they need to successfully grow their companies by building and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies.
From marketing plans and budgeting, to media placement and buying recommendations, Beth brings more than 2 decades of knowledge and experience to Making the Brand™. Her emphasis on collaboration, education
and customer service have driven CreativeXchange's success, as she's developed trusting relationships with her diverse clients.
CreativeXchange will be providing the Making the Brand™ contest winner with a target market and competitor brand review, marketing research, SWOT analysis, marketing strategies
and tactics, and web site coding.

The Write Stuff
Travitt Hamilton started The Write Stuff to bring high impact sales and marketing copy to independent businesses who understand that effective marketing writing can directly impact their bottom
line, but who probably couldn't afford the high overhead and administrative costs of an agency.
Travitt specializes in capturing his clients' voice, and putting it to work-turning their visions into reality through persuasive web copy, informative brochures, and punchy sales and newsletters.
Because marketing is an investment, not an expense, The Write Stuff focuses on results-oriented copy that will produce a solid return on that investment.
The Write Stuff will provide the Making the Brand™ Contest's Grand Prize Winner with written content for their new website and brochure, a branding tagline and a Unique Sales Proposition (30-second
elevator pitch).
